I am using it for 7 months right now, i am using it at school because they blocked everything except Meebo.I have different ways to solve my problem but Meebo is the fastest and easiest one.

You can go for Jabber (Google Talk) and have all the rest of services available via gateways. No need for an all-in-one IM client. Nonetheless if you like them, Pidgin is open source and does everything you need it to.
